I think the stage you are in right now is being in love with the idea of love. You are in love with who you believe this girl is...who she is telling you she is. This is not to say that a deeper true love cannot develop, but until you spend actual quality time with this girl, you won't know her true self.

Firstly, slow down.

Internet romances are very intense, particularly to begin with. You feel the connection, it's exciting, its new. However, nothing can compare to the connections made face to face, person to person. I can appreciate how you must feel logging onto the computer, seeing her messages. It makes you feel special, thought of, and important.

It has only been a week, and sometimes, even face to face, this early on, too much too soon can be a bad thing.

Here is my advice. Meet up soon. Buy a train ticket, or take a road trip. Meet her in a PUBLIC PLACE and see how you feel in person. Hiding behind words and a keyboard, many miles away is never any substitute for how she will look at you, and how you will interact having a proper conversation.

It's important to know you haven't been 'dating' you have been exchanging instant messages. I would go and have a real date and take it really slowly from there. Distance, later on, can pose all manner of problems.

She may not be all that shes set up to be. A person could be completely different online and text messaging than in person. I don't want to offend you but in my opinion it wont be a real relationship untill you see the person and you realize you can be comfortable with them, but like someone else said.. meet in a very public place, yes you are the guy but still public is good
